In isolated cases avalanches are medium-sized. At elevated altitudes the avalanche prone locations are more prevalent and larger. <avActivityHighlights>Wind slabs and weakly bonded old snow require caution.</avActivityHighlights>
<avActivityComment>As a consequence of a sometimes storm force northerly wind, sometimes avalanche prone wind slabs formed in particular in gullies and bowls and behind abrupt changes in the terrain, in particular adjacent to ridgelines on steep west, north and east facing slopes above approximately 2000 m. These can be released, especially by large additional loads,. The number and size of avalanche prone locations will increase with altitude.
Avalanches can additionally be released in the weakly bonded old snow, mostly by large additional loads. Caution is to be exercised in particular in areas where the snow cover is rather shallow on very steep shady slopes between approximately 2000 and 2400 m. Backcountry touring calls for experience in the assessment of avalanche danger.
More gliding avalanches are possible, especially on steep grassy slopes below approximately 2400 m. Areas with glide cracks are to be avoided. As a consequence of solar radiation individual loose snow avalanches are possible, especially on rocky sunny slopes.</avActivityComment>
<snowpackStructureComment>The fresh and somewhat older wind slabs are lying on soft layers in particular on west to north to east facing aspects above approximately 2000 m. The wind slabs are bonding only slowly with the old snowpack, in particular on shady slopes. Field observations and released avalanches confirm this situation. The wind slabs are lying on a crust in particular on steep sunny slopes.
The snowpack will be subject to considerable local variations at high altitudes and in high Alpine regions. Snow depths vary greatly, depending on the infuence of the wind. In gullies and bowls, and behind abrupt changes in the terrain a lot of snow is lying.
The old snowpack will be stable over a wide area.</snowpackStructureComment>

The wind slabs are bonding only slowly with the old snowpack, in particular on shady slopes.
<tendencyComment>The weather conditions will foster a gradual decrease in the avalanche danger. Wind slabs require caution.</tendencyComment>

<avActivityHighlights>Wind slabs represent the main danger.</avActivityHighlights>
<avActivityComment>The sometimes avalanche-prone wind slabs can be released, especially by large additional loads, in particular on west to north to east facing aspects, caution is to be exercised in particular on steep shady slopes, and adjacent to ridgelines and in gullies and bowls. Mostly avalanches are small. The avalanche prone locations are clearly recognisable to the trained eye.
In steep terrain there is a danger of falling on the hard snow surface.</avActivityComment>
<snowpackStructureComment>The old snowpack will be stable over a wide area. The mostly small wind slabs of the last few days are bonding only slowly with the old snowpack, especially on near-ridge shady slopes.
Snow depths vary greatly, depending on the infuence of the wind. On sunny slopes and below the tree line thus far only a little snow is lying.</snowpackStructureComment>
<tendencyComment>The avalanche danger will persist. Wind slabs are to be evaluated with care and prudence.</tendencyComment>
