<avalancheActivityHighlights>Weakly bonded old snow represents the main danger. Fresh wind slabs are to be evaluated with care and prudence.</avalancheActivityHighlights>
<avalancheActivityComment>In some places avalanches can be triggered in the weakly bonded old snow and reach large size in isolated cases, in particular on very steep shady slopes above approximately 2400 m.
In addition the wind slabs are easily triggered still. They are to be evaluated with care and prudence in particular on very steep shady slopes above approximately 2400 m. Avalanches can penetrate deep layers.

Slight increase in danger of wet avalanches in the course of the day, in the event of prolonged bright spells in particular.</avalancheActivityComment>
<snowpackStructureComment>Over a wide area 15 to 30 cm of snow, and even more in some localities, has fallen since Sunday. As a consequence of new snow and a moderate to strong northwesterly wind, sometimes large wind slabs formed. These are lying on soft layers in particular on shady slopes above approximately 2400 m. The wind will be moderate to strong for a temporary period in particular in the regions exposed to the foehn wind.
Avalanche prone weak layers exist in the top section of the snowpack in particular on steep shady slopes.</snowpackStructureComment>
<tendencyComment>The meteorological conditions will facilitate a slow stabilisation of the snowpack. Wet avalanches as the day progresses.</tendencyComment>
