<avActivityHighlights>The conditions are sometimes critical for snow sport activities outside marked and open pistes. Single backcountry tourers can release avalanches easily, including large ones.</avActivityHighlights>
<avActivityComment>As a consequence of new snow and a strong to storm force wind, easily released wind slabs formed in particular adjacent to ridgelines and in gullies and bowls. Weak layers exist in the snowpack in particular on steep shady slopes. On steep slopes and in gullies and bowls, and behind abrupt changes in the terrain slab avalanches are possible, even large ones.</avActivityComment>
<snowpackStructureComment>Over a wide area over a wide area 30 to 50 cm of snow, and even more in some localities, fell in the last few days above approximately 2000 m. In particular above the tree line snow depths vary greatly, depending on the infuence of the wind. The snowpack will be in most cases subject to considerable local variations. The various wind slabs have bonded poorly with the old snowpack.</snowpackStructureComment>

<avActivityComment>Single winter sport participants can release avalanches easily, including large ones. Avalanche prone locations for dry avalanches are to be found in particular on steep west, north and east facing slopes above the tree line, also on steep shady slopes in areas close to the tree line. The avalanche prone locations are covered with new snow and are therefore barely recognisable, even to the trained eye. Whumpfing sounds and the formation of shooting cracks when stepping on the snowpack and fresh avalanches serve as an alarm indicating the danger. Remotely triggered avalanches are possible. <br/> In addition medium-sized gliding avalanches are possible. This applies on steep grassy slopes below approximately 2400 m. <br/> <br/> Defensive route selection is important.</avActivityComment>

This applies in particular in high Alpine regions. <br/> The old snowpack will be moist at low and intermediate altitudes.
