Fresh wind slabs require caution. As the snowfall eases numerous moist loose snow avalanches are to be expected, but they will be mostly small.

The fresh wind slabs are mostly small and in some cases prone to triggering. Individual avalanche prone locations are to be found on near-ridge shady slopes in high Alpine regions. The wind slabs are to be avoided in particular in terrain where there is a danger of falling.
In the regions exposed to heavier precipitation numerous moist loose snow avalanches are to be expected as the day progresses. This applies on extremely steep slopes.

Snowpack

dp.6: cold, loose snow and wind

Over a wide area 5 to 15 cm of snow, and even more in some localities, has fallen. The fresh snow and the mostly small wind slabs to be found adjacent to ridgelines and in pass areas are lying on soft layers in particular on steep shady slopes in high Alpine regions. The old snowpack will be in most cases stable.
Sunshine and high temperatures will give rise as the day progresses to increasing softening of the snowpack.
In all regions only a small amount of snow is lying for the time of year. At low and intermediate altitudes from a snow sport perspective, in most cases insufficient snow is lying.

Tendency

Low avalanche danger will prevail.

Danger level

Moist loose snow avalanches are possible, but they will be mostly small.

In the regions exposed to heavier precipitation individual moist loose snow avalanches are possible as the day progresses, especially on extremely steep slopes at high altitudes and in high Alpine regions.
The fresh wind slabs are mostly small and can only be released in isolated cases. Individual avalanche prone locations are to be found on near-ridge shady slopes in high Alpine regions.

Snowpack

5 to 10 cm of snow has fallen. The snowpack will be stable over a wide area. Sunshine and high temperatures will give rise as the day progresses to increasing softening of the snowpack.
In all regions only a small amount of snow is lying for the time of year. At low and intermediate altitudes from a snow sport perspective, in most cases insufficient snow is lying.

Tendency

Low avalanche danger will persist.
